The Iowa Senate finished their session around midnight on Wednesday night. Senator Ken Rozenboom tells KNIA/KRLS News that some of the more significant conclusions were the passing of property tax reform, education reform, and a hybrid Medicaid expansion plan. The property tax reform will reduce property assessment from the current 100% to 90%. The education reform will increase the amount of money spent on education. The hybrid Medicaid expansion plan combines some of the features of Medicaid expansion with some of the governor’s Healthy Iowa initiatives.
