It had been nearly five years since Justin Henderson won a race at the Knoxville Raceway, so long that his young son was not even born the last time he won. Saturday night, Henderson ended that streak as he held off both Austin McCarl and Brian Brown to win the 410 main event. Henderson led nearly the entire race, but McCarl had pulled even with him on lap 16 when Trey Starks crashed to bring out a red flag. Henderson got the start he needed on clean air, but Brown was charging and Henderson held him off by .066 of a second. In the 360 feature Australian Scott Bogucki won his first career race at Knoxville passing Jamie Ball with two laps to go after holding a comfortable lead then losing it in lapped traffic. The only feature that was never in doubt was Russ Hall’s victory in the Pro Sprints where he led from start to finish. Next week the USAC National Sprint Cars come to Knoxville for some topless racing while the 360s run on Friday and the 410s on Saturday.
