Chicago will be the Spring Musical for the Knoxville High School. The musical will be under the direction of Heidi Feldman and it will be held in early March at the Knoxville Performing Arts Center (KPAC).

Auditions were held November 1 and the cast list was announced the next morning. Cast members include Hayden Hudson as Roxie Hart; Kailan Ethell as Velma Kelly; Mason Hatch as Billy Flynn; Caleb Murra as Amos Hart; Taylor Newendorp as Matron “Mama” Morton; Talon Brown as Fred Casely; Regan Roberts as Fogartyand  Madilynn Day-Suhr as Mary Sunshine.

The Merry Murderesses of Cook County Jail are Suhr as Liz; Willow Kam as Annie; Reagan Oye as June; Kaeding Phillips as Hunyak; Alex Woods as Mona and Brown as Billy Flynn/Amos Hart Understudy.

The Singing/Speaking Ensemble: Talon Brown, Cassidy DeMaderios, Ivy Deng, Emily Humeston, Jason Krasko, Isaiah Picard, Morgan Pitt, Regan Roberts, Malachi Swan, Sage Walton, Joey Woods and Mia Yocum.

All That Jazz Dancers are Talon Brown, Madilynn Day-Suhr, Bella Gilbert, Ella Pelong, Iselynn Prevo, Maddy Wells, Shaelyn Wheelock, Alex Wood and Joey Wood.

Hayden Hudson, Knoxville senior, plays one of the lead roles, she tells KNIA/KRLS News, “Chicago is the musical that the Knoxville High School will be putting on in the Spring. It’s going to be first weekend in March, so mark your calendar The show is about a group of ladies who have murdered people in their lives and they are incarcerated, and we go through the trial process and meet some fun characters along the way,”

In the roaring twenties Chicago, chorus girl Roxie Hart murders a faithless lover and convinces her hapless husband, Amos, to take the rap, until he finds out he’s been duped and turns on Roxie. Convicted and sent to death row, Roxie and another “Merry Murderess,” Velma Kelly, vie for the spotlight and the headlines, ultimately joining forces in search of the “American Dream:” fame, fortune, and acquittal.
