Knoxville Police Chief Aaron Fuller addressed homelessness in rural Iowa communities during a panel discussion at the Iowa Association of Counties Spring Conference.

Fuller was joined by three others who work for agencies in Polk County that help those who are homeless. Fuller spoke about ways that homelessness is not being addressed properly in small towns like Knoxville and that part of the problem is lack of communications between agencies assisting those who are homeless.

“There are so many organizations who are trying to help and they don’t communicate. While one organization is helping somebody they may also be getting help from another organization, or two or three more. If there is no communication or teamwork there it is very difficult to have a holistic approach to helping the person.”
