The Knoxville Rotary Club announced its 2022 scholarship winners Wednesday. Scholarship Committee Chairman Larry Formanek spoke with KNIA/KRLS News about why the Rotary Club gives out scholarships.

“We’ve always wanted to support local education and we want people to go to college, so we are trying to make it a little easier for them to do that.”

Formanek spoke about the kids of Knoxville.

“We’ve always had great kids. Unfortunately, we cannot give out enough scholarships for them all, so it makes it tough for us to select the ones that get the scholarships, but they are all deserving of them.”
