The City of Lacona held their annual Lacona Celebration over the weekend, a community-wide event to raise funds for the Lacona park including the facilities and equipment and other community events. Board Chair Jolene Schurman tells KNIA News the Lacona Celebration brings everyone in the community together, and all the money stays in the community whether it goes to the park such as roofing the park building and shelters, improving the bandstand, or even donating milk money to Southeast Warren Schools. The event included donations of Quilts of Valor to members of the American Legion Post 426, and a parade honoring local veterans and celebrating the community.
