The Pella Dutch boys tennis team took home a Little Hawkeye Conference tournament championship Wednesday, as they won three championships and scored 58 team points. Norwalk was a close second with 52 points, Pella Christian tied for third with 32 points, and Indianola was fifth with 24 points.

Cashen Thompson of Pella was the #1 singles champion as he defeated Norwalk’s Hayden Steele in the championship round, Nate Winjum placed fourth for Indianola, and Aaron Meinders was fifth.

Braylon Stockwell took home a championship for Norwalk in #2 singles as he took down Ben Van Gorp in the championship match, Justus Woell for Indianola finished in sixth, and Kirby Van WynGarden finished in seventh for Pella Christian.

The doubles pairing of Jack Briggs and Joshua Roozeboom took home another first place finish for the Dutch in #1 doubles, nearly sweeping their way through the finals as they defeated Austin Mills and Adrian Bush from Norwalk in the championship match. Isaac Natelborg and Shaun Bos fell in the third place match to earn a fourth place spot for Pella Christian, while Joe Comer and Michael Rothchild for Indianola were awarded fifth after winning the consolation bracket.

The Pella show continued in #2 doubles, as Cameron Rowe and Beau Bush were dominant all the way through, defeating the duo of Toby Vander Molen and Rob Schreur from Pella Christian in the championship match. Kaden Tomkins and Drew Chambers were the third place finishers from Norwalk, while Erik Jensen and Kael Christiansen for Indianola ended the tournament in seventh place.
