Down to their third string quarterback, second string punter, and second string holder, the Simpson Storm football team showed no quit in a 31-21 victory over Loras on Saturday to spoil the DuHawks homecoming.

Simpson got the ground game going early, getting up 14-3 on a rushing touchdown from Cam Bunting and quarterback Sam Sasso respectively, then disaster struck before the end of the first half. Sasso went down with an injury and would not return, forcing backup quarterback and punter Tanner Krueger into action. He played well, before an injury forced him out as well, putting in 3rd string qb sophomore Tanner Jansen.

An interception led the Storm deep into DuHawk territory, a botched hold on a field goal led to a Jackson Redmond rushing touchdown on a broken play, followed by a 98 yard interception return touchdown from Ryan Lehr, which sealed the deal. The Storm improve to 3-3 overall and 2-2 in the conference with the win, and host Luther this Saturday for homecoming.
