The Marion County Republican Party is preparing for the possibility of a special election being called if none of the five candidates for Marion County Board of Supervisors reach the required 35% of the vote to claim victory.

In the event of no candidate reaching the 35% threshold, Marion County Republican Chair T. Waldmann-Williams will call a special county convention where county delegates elected at the February 5th caucus will hear from all potential candidates and vote on a nominee. If necessary, the special county convention will take place on June 18th in the Iowa State Extension Office gym at 6:30pm.
