Time is running out for Knoxville students in grades 9 through 12 to apply for the Mayor’s Youth Council. The council will comprise of 12 students, three from each grade, who will be the voice of all youth in the area. Mayor Don Zoutte says this is the first real chance for area youth to have their voices heard.

Zoute says the goal is to provide activities for younger residents to enjoy in hopes that they will stay or return to the area. He says the council should be a great experience for all who are chosen.

Applications are available at the Knoxville High School and City Hall and must be submitted by Friday. Interviews with applications will be scheduled for next week.
