On Thursday, McCorkle Hardware in Columbia celebrated 100 years of serving the people of Marion County and the surrounding area. With hardware stores located all over the country Store Manager Dale Storm tells KNIA/KRLS News he tells his employees that service is all they have to sell because people can always go somewhere else. Storm says he knows people come from all over to shop at McCorkle Hardware even though they can get items much closer to where they live. He says people come to the store because they like the personality of everyone and know they will have the items they are looking for. To celebrate, McCorkle served food to their customers as well as handed out commemorative t-shirts to remember the anniversary. Several hundred customers attended the celebration.
