Recent rainfalls have resulted in very soggy conditions across Marion County. District Conservationist Jay Jung at the Natural Resources Conservation Service says there are a lot of field erosion issues in the area and once things dry out it’s important for producers to take a proactive approach to try and prevent the problems from happening in the future. Jung says it’s important to keep conservation practices in place in order to prevent additional runoff during heavy rains like we’ve experienced this spring. Anyone who wants tips or has questions about conservation practices can stop by the NRCS office at 1445 Lake Drive in Knoxville or give them a call at 641-842-5314.
