A schedule is in place for a joint program involving the Knoxville Chamber of Commerce and two other local chambers; this will be a program aimed at helping women in the business world.

Regional Mentoring for Women will be held on Thursday, April 18th at the Cellar Peanut Pub in Newton, from 4:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. This is a joint effort by the Knoxville, Newton and Grinnell chambers, in conjunction with the Greater Des Moines Partnership.

Hannah Vander Veer from the Knoxville Chamber tells KNIA/KRLS News the organizers have settled on panels which will cover topics of particular interest to women starting or looking to grow their own companies.

“So we will have four different that we will cover during the event, and each panel will have one female from each community. So those panels include, what it’s like to be a female in leadership; how do you balance work and life; growing and buying a small business; and then the last one is gaining confidence in overcoming obstacles,” Vander Veer says.

Those interested in attending should register through their respective chamber of commerce.
