Three of the four winter sports teams at Pella Christian are set to be in action today.

Looking to pick up their first wins of the season, the Pella Christian bowling teams travel to Ames this afternoon to square off with the Gilbert Tigers. The Eagles most recently competed on Saturday, falling in both the boys and girls contests against Oskaloosa. The Gilbert girls bowling squad is 6-2 overall on the season, while the Tiger boys enter today’s contest at 9-0 after splitting their games with WDM Valley on Tuesday. The Pella Christian bowling matches at Perfect Games in Ames against Gilbert today are scheduled to start at 2:30 pm.

Wrapping up Thursday’s action, the Class 2A #8 Eagles boys basketball team hosts Pekin in a makeup non-conference game. Pella Christian was originally scheduled to host the Panthers on Monday, January 15th. The Eagles are looking to recapture some momentum heading into Friday night’s homecoming game against Grand View Christian, as they have dropped two of their last three games. Meanwhile, Pekin is on a three game winning streak, nabbing victories over Wapello, Columbus Catholic, and Hillcrest Academy. Pella Christian and Pekin have met just three times in the Bound era, with the Eagles winning all three previous meetings. In the short series history, Pella Christian has won all three contests by at least 20 points, including last season’s 83-47 road victory.

The Eagles and Panthers boys basketball game tonight can be heard live on 92.1 KRLS and viewed on the Pella Christian YouTube channel, beginning with the Scooter’s Coffee Radio Pregame Show at 7 pm.
