The Pella Christian track and field teams competed at the Ogden Early Bird COED meet Thursday night, and the girls brought home a 4th place finish with 71 points and the boys finished in 5th with 82 points.

Bailey Vos claimed the lone first place finish in the meet for the Eagle girls, winning the 400-meter dash (1:03.45). Additionally, Vos claimed one of the three individual runners-up finishes for Pella Christian in the 800-meter run (2:34.22). The other individual second place finishers were Cara Veenstra in the high jump (4’-10”) and Meredith Van Wyk in the 100-meter dash (13.86). Two relay teams also placed second in the meet, as the 4×400 meter posted a time of 4:27.57 and 800 sprint medley was timed at 2:00.74. 

The Pella Christian boys claimed the top spot in three events. Trevor Veenstra dominated the throwing events, winning the shot put by 18 feet (56-05.25) and the discus by 42 feet (163-04). Luke Nikkel secured the other first place finish in the 100-meter dash (12.02), and also took second in the long jump (19-07.50). Ely Cadwell was second in the 800-meter run (2:16.59) and the Eagles 4×400 meter relay was also a second-place finisher (3:55.35).
