The Pella Christian boys and girls track and field teams will share the same outdoor track for the first time this spring tonight at the Ogden Early Bird Coed meet.

Bothe the Eagles’ boys and girls squads are competing for the second time this week. The Pella Christian girls track and field team traveled to Centerville Tuesday for their first outdoor meets, but no official scores or times were kept. The Eagle boys track and field team hosted the PC Boys Early Season Meet also on Tuesday, and while team scores weren’t kept, the Eagles won four events. Junior thrower Trevor Veenstra, who broke the Pella Christian shot put record, added his second Drake Relays qualification mark this season in the discus throw Tuesday. Despite his early season success, Veenstra is excited for another opportunity to improve.

“There are things that I need to improve on and that can help me throw farther and there’s always things that you can work on to improve. You’re never going to be perfect at what you do.”

The Ogden Early Bird Coed meet tonight at Ogden High School begins at 4:30 p.m.
