Postseason play begins Thursday night in Oskaloosa for the Pella High softball team, and the Lady Dutch are anxious for a third shot at the Little Hawkeye Conference co-champions in the opening round of the Class 4A Regional Softball Tournament. It’s been a changing of the guard this season for the Pella High softball team, as the Lady Dutch have gone from a senior-dominated team a year ago to a squad of mostly juniors with a few seniors sprinkled in and a handful of underclassmen. Allie DeMeulenaere and Morgan Ernst (both juniors) and Lindsey Mueller (one of two seniors) sat down with KNIA/KRLS Sports Director Eric Gotschall following Tuesday night’s 7-6 come-from-behind victory over Colfax-Mingo to talk about the ride so far, what they enjoy about their respective positions in the field, and why they think Pella will be at the top of the conference standings by season’s end.
