Teachers from Pleasantville Elementary were recently provided with a $10,000 Prairie Meadows Betterment Grant to develop a “Makerspace.”
The Makerspace is designed as a place where students can gather to create, invent, explore, and discover incorporating STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) using a variety of tools and materials. The “Makerspace” is for pre-kindergarten through sixth grade students, and develops problem-solving and social skills.
The grant team included Miika Busick, Haley Cummings, Monica Friday, Mary Rector, and Wendy Wild.
