The Iowa State Patrol reports that an area resident, Amber M Morris, 22, was killed yesterday afternoon in a weather related accident one mile west of the intersection of Highway T61 and Highway 34 in Monroe County.

A 9-0 run in the last 1:45 of the third quarter by Panorama sealed Pleasantville’s fate as the Trojanns fell to the number 12th ranked Panthers in the class 2A Regional Quarterfinal last night 55-36.

Pleasantville jumped out to a 20-8 first quarter lead and held Van Meter at arm’s length to win its class 2A girls first round regional basketball game Saturday night 56-40.
