The deadline for primary elections for Marion County offices has come and gone.

Auditor Jake Grandia filed for reelection, as did Sheriff Jason Sandholdt, and Supervisor Mark Raymie. Supervisor Jim Kingery chose not to seek reelection and Steve McCombs of Tracy has filed to fill the empty seat. All of the filers were Republicans and no Democrats declared for primaries. Grandia explained that there will be no local contested elections, but Democrats can still add candidates for the general election if they file ahead of November. KNIA/KRLS News will continue to provide updates if the electoral field grows.
