The housing market is on its way back statewide, with a reported 6.1% increase in home sales over April of last year. Growth in sales is occurring in Marion as well. Chris Hoegh with Marion County Title Services, with offices in Knoxville and Pella says that the market has rebounded since the downturn in 2008 and 2009. With interest rates hitting record lows in the past couple of years, the refinancing business has been good for some time. Recently, however, home sales have also increased throughout the county, with homes selling more quickly, and close to assessed values–a good thing, according to Hoegh.
