A new record high was set in Knoxville/Pella yesterday. Temperatures reached 94 degrees on Tuesday afternoon. That breaks the old record of 93 degrees set in 1941. It’s the first temperature record of 2013; temperatures the rest of this week are expected to be in the upper 70s to lower 80s, so no more records are expected to be broken. However, the National Weather Service reports we may have our first severe weather of the year between Saturday night and Monday. KNIA/KRLS’s Severe Weather Action Team is on alert and monitoring the situation.
