Pella Christian’s Veenstra Concludes Softball Career with Notable Season

Tuesday night’s 6-4 loss to Pleasantville in the opening round of the Class 2A Regional Softball Tournament ended the season for the Pella Christian softball team, and it also saw the curtain draw closed on the career of Sami Veenstra.

The Pella Christian softball team has already begun the second half of the season with hopes of improving upon a 5-14 record and moving past some of the growing pains that come with a young an inexperienced team. Marion County PM Sports Page – Pella Christian Girls Basketball Seniors

With most of the members of last year’s State Tournament-qualifying team back from a season ago, the expectations were high in the 2011-12 season for the Pella Christian girls basketball team. After a long and challenging journey, the Lady Eagles again find themselves among the eight-team field at Wells Fargo Arena, with their State Tournament run starting this Tuesday morning. Following Pella Christian’s win over Monticello on Monday night, KNIA/KRLS Sports Director Eric Gotschall talked with all seven seniors on this year’s squad about what makes this season different, what they’ve enjoyed the most about the ride so far, and why they think they’ve got what it takes to make a splash in “the Well”.
