It’s a mixture of old and new this season for the Pella High baseball team. The Little Dutch boast a corps of seniors that have been a foundation for the program for multiple seasons, but are also depending on a number of younger contributors – all under the guidance of new head coach, Al Vasher. Seniors Schyler Kane, Brett Kingery and Trevor Wood talked with KNIA/KRLS Sports Director Eric Gotschall on this week’s Marion County PM Sports Page program about what’s been new this season, why their win over Grinnell was so important, and why this weekend’s game against Pella Christian should be one of the highlights of their season.

Two very efficient performances on the pitcher’s mound highlighted a Varsity doubleheader split Monday night for the Pella baseball team against Grinnell.

Pella Boys Hold on for Gritty Win Over Oskaloosa

The Pella boys were able to hold off a late-game charge by Oskaloosa last night, as they defeated the Indians 73-63 in Little Hawkeye Conference play.
