A resolution ordering plans for and authorizing the taking of bids for a sewer repair project was approved at Tuesday night’s Pella City Council meeting. The repairs would take place on two segments of Marion Street between Jefferson and Lincoln Streets and cost approximately $84,000 between two phases. A timeline to award a contract by October 6th was established, with hopes to have the project finished by December 1st. In other business, the council also approved the final readings of ordinances updating the city’s electric and building codes and rate and fee schedules; along with the adoption of an ordinance allowing the city to enforce graffiti as a nuisance.
