KNIA KRLS News recently told you about an anti-bullying, interactive drumming group called Sheltered Reality, that takes its message to schools all across the nation. Approximately 200 people attended their recent concert at the Knoxville Performing Arts Center. Audience members heard the story of Austin, an 8th grader from North Dakota, who was able to join the group, to escape the torment of bullying at his school and on social media.

Members of the audience were invited onstage to learn the drumming style and participate in the show.

Middle School Music Instructor Megan Phillips says the goal is to start a drumming group in Knoxville. Sheltered Reality Executive Director Steven Schlosser says there is no age limit. To get involved, visit www.sheltered-reality.org, or contact Phillips at the middle school in Knoxville.
