State Representative Jim Van Engelenhoven says recent political events in Arizona have not had an affect on security measures or day-to-day operations at the State House. The Pella Republican says new security measures were put in place several years ago but have since become a bit more lenient. He adds that because of the shootings in Arizona those policies may be revisited if the need arises. For the current session, Van Engelenhoven will be Chairman of the Local Government Committee and sit on the Natural Resources and Transportation Committees.
