The Marion County Board of Supervisors met in special session Tuesday.

The board discussed the disposition of the Marion County Care Facility and farm ground located at 1111 Newbold Street in rural Knoxville. Board member Craig Agan made a motion to accept a bid for the property. The motion was made for the bid made by Synhorst Farms to be accepted by board. The bid was originally for $590,000 but was later negotiated to $700,000, which the board chose to accept. The board instructed assistant county attorney Ross Gibson to initiate sales paperwork for the property, and a public hearing will need to be held before the process can be completed.
