Area Sports Round-Up for April 17, 2014

In other area action, the Pella boys’ tennis team hosts North Polk for a meet, while Pella Christian also hosts North Polk but in soccer action. The PCM boys’ soccer squad will be at Nevada for conference action, and the Mustangs’ girls track team heads to Guthrie Center for a meet, looking to get events to Drake and trying for yet another team meet victory. And Pleasantville’s boys track team is in Saydel.

Pleasantville Girls’ Golf Wins Inaugural 2014 Meet

The Pleasantville girls’ golf team notched a victory at their home meet last night over PCM, Melcher-Dallas and two other schools. The Trojans had a team score of 188, a whopping 26 strokes better than the second place Mustangs. The Saints did not have enough girls for a team score. The Meet Medalist was Cassidy Van Veen of PCM with a round of 44, and off pace by just a stroke for runner-up was Hannah Gordon of Pleasantville. A full list of results can be found below:
