The Marion County Public Health Department has not released information on this week’s allocations of COVID-19 vaccines. As of last week, the department had started vaccinating those who work in early childhood development, the last named group in Tier 1 of Phase 1B. Director Kim Dorn said last week that people should remain patient during this fluid process.

“I just want to reemphasize that we continue to ask for patience as we work through the groups and vaccine shortage orders. We have orders, we follow them. The 65+ group is very enthusiastic about getting the vaccine, and there just isn’t enough vaccine, so we ask for continued patience.”

The state’s public health department was to distribute 62,000 doses throughout the state this week, an increase from 49,000 the previous week.
