Today is Veterans Day. The history of Veterans Day dates to 1918, when Germany signed an Armistice that formally ended World War I during the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month. President Woodrow Wilson later proclaimed Armistice Day to be a holiday, which was passed by Congress in 1926. In 1954, the name of the day was changed to Veterans Day, as to honor all veterans from all wars.
