Rallies Secure Pair of Wins for Central Softball

The Central College softball team picked up a pair of late-game wins Friday, but left the Grinnell Hy-Vee Classic with mixed emotions after a 3-2 win over No. 24 Washington-St. Louis and a 10-6 triumph over Dubuque.

Wartburg Hands Central Baseball First Conference Loss

After opening the league schedule with a sweep of Loras last weekend, the Central College baseball team was dealt its first Iowa Conference loss of the season as the Dutch suffered a 5-2 defeat to Wartburg College last night in Waverly.

Murder Victim’s Body Exhumed

The body of homicide victim Marie Lisa Peak was exhumed from Graceland Cemetery in Knoxville Friday with the hope that new investigative techniques might provide information that could lead to an arrest in the cold case.
