Families came to the Pella Public Library Monday night to start the summer reading season albeit in less than ideal summer conditions. The library held a celebration last night to herald the start of the annual program. Staff was pleased with the turnout. Youth Services Librarian Katie Dreyer says about 200 children signed up for the grade school program while about 100 children signed up for the preschool read-to-me program. She says more reading logs are available at the library.
