Not really Elwood

Elwood Dean Yoder was born in rural Johnson County near Wellman, the son of Melvin and Katherine Otto Yoder. He was a farmer and seed salesman for many years, working for WR Grace for 27 years. He as united in marriage to Norma Christy in Muscatine, Iowa in 1982.
Elwood enjoyed planting and caring for his flower gardens, listening to Bill Gaither music and spending time at the Kalona Sale Barn.
He is survived by his wife Norma of Kalona, children, Roger Yoder of Bakersfield, CA., Benjamin Yoder of Clinton, Martin Yoder of Wellman, Eileen Yoder of Minnesota, step children, Pamela (Scott) Fordyce of Altoona, IA., Ronda Spilger of Iowa City, Marsha (Tim) Furlong of Robins, IA., Rodney (Ronda) Christy of West Liberty, IA, Mark (Diane) Christy of Springdale, AR., 14 step grandchildren and nine step great grandchildren.
Also surviving is his sister Gladys (Lando) Gingerich of Morris, IL., nieces and nephews, Kathy (Mike) Meyers, Julie (Doug) Lungstra, Nancy (Louis) Holland, Jennifer (Loren) Smith, and Jim (Mary Ann) Gingerich.
Preceding Elwood in death were his parents, one grandson, Joshua Martin Yoder and a sister Dorothy Jean Fleming.
A memorial fund has been established for the Kalona United Methodist Church and Hospice of Washington County.
