The emphasis on green energy has the city of Pella
discussing a modification to their zoning ordinance.
Dennis Vander Horst is the owner of West End Auto in
Pella. He'd like to attach two vertical-axis wind turbines
to his building, which isn't permitted under current city
code. City of Pella Planning and Zoning Director George
Wesselhoft says the Planning and Zoning Commission will
discuss wind energy at a meeting June 22.
