The Pella City Council approved a new three-year solid
waste collection contract at their meeting Tuesday. The
council awarded the contract to KAL Services Inc. of
Pella, commonly known as Midwest Sanitation. Besides solid
waste collection, the approximately $467,400 contract
includes recycling services. The existing agreement with
KAL Services expires July 31.
