A co-owner of the Iowa Barnstormers Arena football league
team from Des Moines and current chair of the Republican
Party of Iowa spoke at the Knoxville Rotary Club
Wednesday. Matt Strawn presented a history of the
football team as well as on the complexities of running a
professional sports team. Strawn's discussion focused
particularly on how the team partnered with local
businesses in their marketing efforts. Strawn shared that
part of the team's success is because they view themselves
as not only a sports team, but also as an entertainment
venue.
