The latest unemployment numbers from Iowa workforce
development were released this week, and Marion County is
just below the statewide average and well below national
figures. 6.1 percent of the workforce in Marion County was
unemployed, up from 5.8 percent last month. The 6.1
percent unemployment rate for the county compares with a
statewide average of 6.2 percent, and a national average
of 9.5 percent in June.
