If your car number is 83 and your first name is Tim you likely have won a preliminary night feature at Knoxville this week. Tim Shaffer won on night one of the 49th Annual Knoxville Nationals with car number 83-X, last night Tim Kaeding won with car number 83 on night two. Kaeding grabbed the lead from Dusty Zomer on lap 11 as the two got into lapped traffic. Kaeding then began to pick off car left and right to win going away. Kaeding said patience paid off with this race. Kaeding has not had a lot of success at Knoxville because he does not run at the half-mile very often and bad luck has plagued him recently. He also mentioned the team changed crew chiefs as Guy Forbrook left the team in the last couple of weeks and Sonny Kratz is now the new crew chief. The points look like this in the top five Stevie Smith is the top point getter with a total of 488 followed by, Joey Saldana, Tyler Walker, Kraig Kinser, and Dale Blaney. Those five along with, Kaeding, Donny Schatz, Jason Solwold, Sam Hefertepe Jr, and Dusty Zomer. Night three will be drivers that did not lock themselves into the top 50, the A, B, and C Scrambles, and the Knoxville World Challenge. You can hear the call on KNIA/KRLS starting with Live Track Side at six.
