Although the first district game is still two weeks away both Knoxville and Pella coaches agree that Class 3A District 6 will be a dog fight to determine the top four spots. Last year Pella finished undefeated and won the district , with Centerville, Grinnell and Norwalk rounding out the top four, however Coach Jay Mckinstrey says this year things won’t come easy and Pella will be tested early. Knoxville coach Chris Hudson agrees saying it may be one of the toughest districts in the state. Hudson says there are several teams that will battle for the final two sub state berths behind Pella and Centerville who he says are the frontrunners and he hopes Knoxville will be in the mix. Mckinstrey says all eight teams have a lot of returning talent this year which will make each week difficult. Pella opens Friday at Washington, a game you can hear live with Jamie Brockman and Randy Sikkema on 92.1 FM KRLS starting with the pre game at 7pm while Knoxville travels to PCM which you can hear with Derek Cardwell on AM 1320 KNIA also starting at 7pm. Both broadcasts will also be streamed live on kniakrls.com and available on demand or for download at kniakrls.com by clicking Radio Plus.
