The Highway Five Battle went the way of Carlisle last night, as the Wildcats were able to capitalize on good field position throughout the game to win 42-to-20. The Trojans showed high emotion in their home opener, but felt the wind sink from their sails as Carlisle running back Nate Wilmes scored a 98 yard touchdown run late in the first quarter to give the Wildcats the seven/nothing lead. The Wildcats would score 35 points total in the first half and keep control of the ballgame through the third quarter…and added another 17 yard touchdown to put the score at 42/nothing. Pleasantville scored three touchdowns in the fourth quarter, including a 17 yard pass from Bobby Beier to tight end Clint Adreon. The Trojans will look to bounce back next Friday night as they continue non-district play with Eddyville-Blakesburg.
