Pella Christian gets their Cross Country seasons underway Saturday as they compete in the Pella Invitational held at Central College. The day starts with the Central College Invitational followed by the high school runners. Eagles Coach Jocelyn Meinders says this is always a great way to start the season because not only is it in Pella which allows more fans to come watch, but it’s a very challenging course. Meinders says there’s still a lot of question marks this season especially on the girls side because of graduation and injuries leaving them with limited numbers at the varsity level so she’s interested to see what they can do against some larger schools. She also notes that the boys only have 10 runners this year but all 10 are looking good. The high school portion of the meet starts with the JV boys at 11am and varsity at 11:30am followed by the girls JV at noon and varsity at 12:30pm Saturday.
