The score may not have shown the effort, but the Melcher-Dallas Saints can find plenty to feel good about after a 33-to-20 loss last night to Grandview Park Baptist. Melcher-Dallas was plagued by poor field position…but time and time again the defense was able to come up with stops. Coach Chris Peterson played sophomore quarterback Trent Kennedy. Senior running back Levi VanderEcken contributed 127 yards rushing with two touchdowns. The offense struggled at times to sustain drives and gave up turnovers…which put the defense in some unfavorable positions throughout the night. The loss drops the Saints to oh-and-two for the year, and will look for their first win next week when they host Northeast Hamilton next week.
