State-wide school board elections were held Tuesday, and Stephanie Vickroy and Mark Mahoney claimed the two open school board seats in Knoxville. Joy Flinchum and Joan Corbin were elected to the district one and two seats on the Pella School Board, while Gregg Gustafson won the only contested race for an at-large director seat. Four nominees were vying for two seats on the PCM School Board, with Jean Jennings winning in district two and John Woestman taking district six. Jeani Phillips and Daniel Gruber each won their uncontested races for the North Mahaska School board, as they were elected to seats representing districts four and five, respectively. In the Pleasantville school district, Jenny Hilsabeck and Kenny Sutter were elected to the board, and Melcher Dallas saw Ann K. Fee and Shane Ripperger claim the two open seats there. In Twin Cedars’ district three Steve Gilkerson received the most votes, while Deborah Haselhuhn claimed the Twin Cedars’ at large seat.
