The Pella girls finished third at Grinnell led by freshman Victoria Kleven who finished 10th. The Pella boys also finished third led by Zach Buchheit who finished 4th. This was the third meet in a week for Pella so coach Doug Cutler used the opportunity to rest some of the top runners on both squads and sub in some of the younger runners for this meet and was pleased with their results. Pella Christian’s boys were without their top runner Josh Meyers who was ill and finished eighth led by Skyler Giddings who finished 11th and the Pella Christian girls had an incomplete team for scoring with only four varsity runners but Michaela Martin led the way finishing 20th. The Knoxville girls placed fifth out of 14 teams three points behind Benton. Jessica Fresh was 13th. The boys placed second. Jamie Vanderveer placed eighth. Coach Mike Moats said doing well against third ranked Grinnell and seventh ranked Vinton-Shellsburg looks good for the rest of the season
