The Marion County Sheriff’s Office was awarded $14,700 in funds from FEMA this week, through the Commercial Equipment Direct Assistance Program. A spokesperson from Senator Chuck Grassley’s office tells KNIA/KRLS News the funds are for a TACSIGHT Thermal Imager, which allows personnel to see heat signatures of objects, people and other sources. The federal program helps enhance regional response capabilities for law enforcement and emergency responders.
