Waterfowl and youth deer season start later this month, and Marion County hunters need to make sure equipment other than their guns are in safe, working order. That’s according to Iowa State Conservation Officer John Mertz. He says aside from clearing any blockages from muzzles, hunters must make sure their camouflage is in good condition, and need to have a bright ‘hunter’s orange’ vest or hat, depending on the season. Mertz says time tends to wear down the orange color on hunter gear.
