Central College sophomore Brent Messmore tied for fifth place at the 20-team Mount Mercy Cropper Golf Classic Sunday.   Messmore carded a 144 playing for the White Team at the par-72 course.   Central was sixth at 595 in its first tournament of the fall. Central’s White squad competes at the Clarke Fall Invitational September 20th-and-21st at the Thunder Hills Country Club in Dubuque. The Dutch varsity does not return to action until September 27th when Central is at the Frank Wrigglesworth Blugold Collegiate Invitational at the Eau Claire Country Club in Eau Claire, Wisconsin
