Central College quarterback Nate Snead has been named the Iowa Conference male athlete of the week after he rushed for all three Central touchdowns, including the game winner on fourth down with just 1:05 remaining, as the Dutch football squad knocked off No. 7 Wisconsin-Stevens Point 22-21 Saturday at Pella. A first-year starter, Snead rushed for 90 yards on 23 carries. He also completed 7 of 15 passes for 96 yards with one interception. Through two games, he’s Central’s leading rusher, averaging 90.0 yards per game and 5.3 yards per carry. Central is 2-0 and jumped to No. 16 in this week’s D3football.com rankings. The Dutch open Iowa Conference play Saturday at the University of Dubuque.
