Two area rivals go head to head tonight in Pleasantville as Pella Christian travels to Pleasantville for the Trojans homecoming in a Class 1A District 6 matchup. The Eagles are out to a 1-0 district start and 2-1 overall after holding off Des Moines Christian last week. Coach Rich Kacmarynski says he really likes what he’s seen over the past week with his team as they continue to improve in every area. Pleasantville meanwhile comes into the game 0-3 and 0-1 in district play but Kacmarynski says that means nothing and he knows the Trojans are better than that and will be ready, especially to play Pella Christian. Pleasantville coach Tim Koreselman says the Trojans are young but continue to improve each week as players grow into their positions. He says it’s important for the Trojans to come out on fire and get out to a quick start against a tough Pella Christian team because they can’t afford to fall behind early and play catch up. He hopes the rivalry and the fact it’s homecoming will add some fire to the Trojans. You can hear tonight’s game broadcast live on 92.1 FM KRLS with Jamie Brockman and Nate Van Wyk starting with the pre game at 6:30pm and kickoff at 7pm. It will also be streamed live on kniakrls.com
